$325 side isle - $350 front isle including tack area We offer : Free Choice hay all day : When was the last time you were yelled at in your stable for NOT giving your horse hay before you left? Dale McCall only buys the best hay that our area has to offer. With first and second cutting hay, the horses at Shady Maple Stables are well fed and are never bored for lack of forage to nibble on. Dale feeds the second cutting once a day and the first cutting at least 4 times a day. If the horse is without, it won't be long before they get more. Grain is fed 2 times a day and water is filled 3 times a day and is always available out in the pastures thanks to the new system that takes water out to the farthest pasture.
Acres of separated pasture where horses are suited to each other carefully to avoid potential problems. The pastures are all separated for various reasons. One reason is to give enough pasture to the horses to keep eating forage all day, the way a horse was meant to eat. Another is to not have too many horses together so problems with hierarchy can be avoided. Lastly so that they can easily rotate pastures to keep the pastures healthy and managed properly for good grass growth.
Stalls are bedded with plenty of bedding; for the horses comfort and also to prevent hock sores from forming from horses getting up in poorly bedded stalls. Stalls and water buckets are cleaned 6 days a week, and plenty of bedding is provided. For horses that like to lie down in their stalls, it is more comfortable and getting back up doesn't cause the hock sores that so many horses do tend to get. Front stalls dimensions are 12 x12 and the side stalls are 10 x 10.
